I am composing this post on my Windows computer, using my Kindle.

A thing called Splashtop lets me use the Kindle as a remote desktop proxy.

Supposedly I can do this even if I’m away from home—as long as the computer is running, of course, and the Kindle has wifi access, also of course.

iThingie, etc.

Splashtop also has an iPhone app, which I’m using to compose this comment.

Still freaky.

Does this mean the blog will be renamed iFreak?

I wonder if I can use my iPhone as a TV remote…

or a garage door opener…

but what I really want is a

REAL TRICORDER with real Star Trek sounds.  I already have a cute nurse in a minidress to go with it.

The aps I’ve seen are way weak due to copyright stuff.

I continue to have fun with this thing, actually. Yesterday I rooted it. There’s a utility that supposedly can keep a rooted Kindle from being unrooted when the next OS update goes out, but ... it won’t install on my Kindle because apparently it’s only available through Google’s Android Market, which doesn’t work even with a rooted Kindle.

Can’t you just stick it in a glass of water to get it to root?

Only for the home team.

The Kindle has finally received its nickname, in keeping with my longstanding motif: Bugpad.
